What is this for and how do I fix it? Thanks.

LTDIS10N.DLL is I believe installed as part of the Weathercast Bug. This is
spyware and I would recommend its removal.

This might be a good time to download yourself a copy of the free Ad-Aware
6.0 from Lavasoft (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and also
SpyBot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and scan your system for and remove
all unwanted parasites, adware and spyware that might be hiding on your PC.

Just is case the problem is due to a new version of the CoolWebSearch parasite
you might want to download and run the CWShredder which targets that specific
parasite. Unfortunately neither AdAware or SpyBot seem to be able as yet to
fully detect all the various versions of the CoolWebSearch parasite as it
keeps changing. For more details of the CoolWebSearch parasite see
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html.

CWShredder, merijn's removal tool, can be downloaded from either:
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip
or
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

I think it's an XP file (?) If you boot in SafeMode, do you get the same
message ?

And does the lack of it cause problems that you can tell

No, LTDIS10N.DLL has nothing to do with XP nor to the best of my knowledge any
Microsoft product however it _is_ installed as part of Weatherbug.

As was said two days ago. :-) The file is installed as part of Weatherbug.

Googling turned up a page "XP .dlls" in which that (and a couple similar
files) were mentioned.

Rick,

In which case the page is in error as I have no such file on any of my XP
systems. Naturally the file will be found on a system running XP if the user
chooses to install an application containing the file <g>. One site you might
find useful, although even then it is by no means exclusive, is the Microsoft
DLL Help Database at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=/servicedesks/fileversion/dllinfo.asp&fp=1

(not meaning to imply you were wrong)
