Intermediary meaning not released on a normally scheduled date, I would

Yes, but downloading definitions doesn't always increase that number. It
didn't this time, for example.

9967 is the number for WinXP, Richard, WinME has only 2743.
BTW that number was not increased with the update. I would summize this to
be a correctional update.
