Try clearing your Microsoft cookies. Many users have been reporting
problems with accessing Microsoft sites over the last few days and in
nearly all cases this has been due to corrupt cookies.

Thanks, Mike. First, my Reply yesterday wouldn't process as Passport wouldn't
process the "Post" Link command. Command Stuck via cycling in system tray
between www.profile.microsoft.com And www.microsoft.com. So, I could Log-In
with FFox but couldn't process "Post" command to answer back on FFox. I
Deleted Cookies- History-Files twice in IE6 SP1 to no avail. "Can't Find
Server Or DNS Error" shows at bottom of Cannot Display Page. Don't strain
your brain to find a solution; I'll just accept it as typical MS weirdness.
Thanks again! Craig

Have you completely cleaned out Internet Explorer. For example,
cookies, delete files and make sure box is checked for off-line files
and cleaned the history in Internet Explorer options. You may also want
to try Gary S. Terhune, MVP's clean boot. I will cross-post this to 98
general newsgroup for solution.

(To 98 general newsgroup -- you guys might be able to have a better
solution since the 98 general newsgroup is currently more active than
the windowsme newsgroup and I know Craig S. would like a solution. I
think the only solution so far posted is mine and Malke's which was
about cookies I think but Malke can weigh in and correct me if needed.)

Thanks to Dan (below) for Cross-posting this from Me General. I have 3 times
Deleted IE6 Cookies-History-Files with Offline Content Checked. I still get
"Page Cannot Be Displayed (Can't Find Server OR DNS Error) when attempting to
access ID-PassWd Page for Any Newsgroup Sign-In. Firefox 1.5.0.7 Works
usually. I Cannot Clean Boot as suggested because the "Load StartUp Group
Items" remains Gray-Checked after Re-Boot in Selective StartUp. I notice
StartUp Tab item (devldr16.exe) won't say Unchecked. BTW, Gary Terhune
Excludes Me from his instructions, so I used KB 267288 Clean Boot sheet.
I'll try any idea but if Firefox works I preume I'll be OK. Just
frustrating. Thanks.

Well, last night for 10/so minutes I couldn't connect to
win98.gen_discussion. Yet, I was able to connect to a non-MS server. Can
it be MS was down for maintenance? What is happening today?

Yeah, a few issues here on my end as well with the 98 general newsgroup.
The hardening of the school continues and thanks to Chris Quirke -- I
am now prepared to harden all the XP Professional computers. The 98SE
computers I mostly understand how to harden their defenses.

I've Signed In for the First Time in Several Weeks With IE6 although Firefox
1.5.0.7 has been working. No more "Cannot Display Page". Hope it sticks!

Glad to hear it. Usually, when the NG is down, it is an inebriated MVP
to blame-- though I can't think why FireFox wasn't affected!
