Up until a few weeks ago when I shut down my computer using
the shut down command on the drop down windows menu, my
computer would close all programs and then the system would
shut down and power off.

In the last couple of weeks, with no change that I am aware
of, the shut down command starts but then the system does
not completely shut down and the screen goes black with a
flashing cursor in left corner of the screen. The CPU will
keep running and it cannot be turned off at the unit and we
have to do a cold boot in order to get it back.

Any assistance with the problem would be appreciated.

Thank you.
