I was in My Documents and renaming a word document. Some
how in doing this all the word documents were changed to
Word Pad Documents. Now when I create a new Word document
they are also being saved at WordPad documents. How do I
change this so Word Documents are being saved as Word
Documents? How do I change those back that were
inadvertently changed?

Are you sure the problem isn't that the association of the DOC extension is associated to
WordPad and not MS Word ?

Dave

In Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, File Types and see what the
association with the .doc file type is. You may want to hit the default
button if it is Word Pad or otherwise change it to Word.
