Windows ME.
There were several postings (including mine) from people for whom
Start -Search- For Files and Folders does not work.
Goggle search I did this morning produced this:
http://www.assistivecomputers.com/helpfiles/Search%20for%20Files.htm

Well. It works.
I further found that you can go to ANY folder in Windows Explorer (Does not
have to be MY Documents) , press F3 and Search dialogue comes on. You can
also go to MyComputer ( icon on Desktop) - press F3 and the search dialogue
comes on (and works). The only place F3 does not work for me is Desktop.

Question to the experts: what stops it from working from Start- Search?
Note : Several responses suggested to tick Tweak UI - Desktop- Search
Results.
It does not work for me. Are there different versions of Twaek UI?

Thanks for that tip Mike. Can I ask you how do I get results returned on
say a 2 word phrase without getting returns on files with the first word (of
the 2 word phrase) in its name?

Example: If I search for "happy dog", Search will list any file containing
the word "happy".

No guarantee but try to enter the name of the file in quotation marks i.e.
"happy dog" not : happy dog.
Let us know if it works for you.
