When I go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup I get a
'Rundll32' error message asking to either Close or Ignore. On closing and
error message 'Rundll32 has caused an error in SETUPX.DLL. Rundll32 will now
close'.
On 'googling' for this problem, it seems I may have removed some registry
entries by using EasyCleaner. Also that a way to resolve this is to
reinstall Windows ME. I only have a recovery disk for my computer (Toshiba
Satellite) , rather than a generic copy of Windows ME.
When I have used this before, it has reformatted my hard drive and restored
it back to when I bought the machine andI have lost everything apart from
data files I have backed up on disk. I am anxious not to have to start
from scratch again.
Can anybody advise me on the best way to resolve this problem?
TIA
