I get the following message while my computer is starting.
This message just started to appear after I downloaded
Norton Antivirus 2004 and it ran its prescan before
installing after restarting the computer I now get this
message:

Rundll32 has caused an error in <unknown> Rundll32 will
now close. If you continue to experience problems try
restarting your computer.

Once this message appears if I try clicking on anything it
will not launch - I am at a loss.

I tried System Restore and it does not do anything either.

I am able to open the computer in Safe Mode but I can not
get to the internet in this mode etc.

I can I solve this error message as quickly and safely as
possible. The HP computer came with Windows ME installed
and they gave me no recovery disks etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I could be wrong but from what I've seen after some
research your best bet would be to extract the rundll32
file from one of the windows .cab files on your windows
CD. Seeing is that you don't have one I'm not sure what
else you can do at this point.
