Couple things:

1) After I sent the message below, I had a heckuva week and did not have
time to check in but a couple times. Someone sent a reply, and I intended
to offer thanks for that; but this morning, the reply in not showing up in
my mailbox! SO... to whomever, I thank you for responding.

2) His reply had referred me to Control Panel/Tweak UI settings, to make
sure "My Documents" was set as the first icon on my desktop. It really
looked like that was the answer. Unfortunately, the setting was already
correct; so that is not the problem that is screwing up "My Pictures."
(BTW, I even tried setting the first icon to another folder and then
resetting it to "My Documents"...but to no avail.)

SO-- Does anyone have other ideas about my original inquiry?

Thanks in advance,

David

That was Mike Maltby replying, the best there is.
If you need additional pointers, he can and probably will give them to you.

Harry.

That's no great surprise since I posted the reply to the newsgroup not to
your mail box. <g>

No, since the solution is to have My Computer selected to be the first
icon displayed on the desktop in TweakUI as explained in KB275557 -
"Internet Explorer Script Error Message When You Open
the My Pictures Folder" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=275557) that I
referred you to in my earlier post. Try swapping back to My Computer,
applying, rebooting, and then reverting to My Documents, applying again
and finally rebooting again.

Mike,

I do indeed appreciate your reference to this article. It looks like the
perfect answer.

I did everything it said, and everything you suggested (including the
reboots) -- but to no avail. (I'm not a computer pro, but I've been using
a PC since the days of the C prompt; so I believe I followed its directions
and yours exactly.)

"My Documents" is the first icon on my desktop. But the problem continues
as I originally described.

Anyone?

Thanks,

David
