Did not consult www.google.com and asked this:
:: Do scanreg /opt and scanreg /fix perform the same functions --
:: deleting broken links, etc. -- as the third-party registry editors
:: such as System Suite and Norton? What are other scanreg command
:: options?
::
:: Thank you.

No, not as well at any rate... Here's a list of some nice free ones:
http://www.webattack.com/freeware/system/fwregtools.html
For more information you can type scanreg /? to get a complete list of
commands and what they do.
Some of the paid ones are really worth it, if you can get a copy of JV16's
freeware tool (before he went and decided to make it a trial version - but
still worth it then but I don't recommend any paid software ever just
because that's not the objective and there's alternatives to paid software
available.) He's made some great registry tools... But there are some great
ones out there and the link above has some free ones which will work just
fine.
