Carla,

N=E3o causam problemas nenhuns, e s=E3o extremamente =FAteis.

E dizer que n=E3o tem problemas desses =E9 pura utopia, excepto se NUNCA =
se tiver ligado =E0 internet.

Descarregue, instale, actualize e fa=E7a uns scans...

Imagino a sua surpresa quando vir os resultados!

Agora passo o texto para ingl=EAs para ningu=E9m se chatear comigo:
;)

Download Ad-Aware from here:
http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/
Install, UPDATE and run.
You may need to reboot and run again to clean all the nasties that =
cannot be deleted at once ("in use").

Also excellent is SpyBot Search & Destroy available here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=3Ddownload
Install, UPDATE and run.
You may need to reboot and run again to clean all the nasties that =
cannot be deleted at once ("in use").
You should also apply the "immunize" function, since it blocks roughly =
1900 known 'bad' runs/apis/apps.

Even if Ad-Aware and SpyBot S&D are similar, they do clean different =
things. You should have both of them and use REGULARLY.

You can also install "preventive" software that will help you control =
these nasties:

SpywareBlaster:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Avoids malicious Active X installs.
Advantage: no system resources used!!!
Just download, install and UPDATE.

All of them extremely useful but you must keep them UPDATED.

Zee

Latest issues of "PC Magazine" and ComputerShopper" rate both programs
highly and say everyone should have both on their systems for protection.
Also, you should have a firewall (not the one that comes with XP) and Zone
Alarm is rated the best.

Because there are some adware/spyware items that one will identify that the
other won't, and vice-versa, is the simple answer.

I use both with no problems whatsoever. I also use IMMUNIZE with
Spybot without any adverse consequences.

...but Spybot S & D hardly put out updates! How can it be rated on the same
par with
Ad-Aware?

Re: Question for Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware users. by Shane

Shane

The free version of Ad-aware, at least, is much less feature rich than
Spybot S&D - which can give real time protection, while Ad-aware is cleaning
up after the fact.

Meanwhile, Lavasoft unleashes what are essentially beta products on the
public - so what seems like frequent updates is less obviously that and more
in part a series of bug fixes and corrections.

Also Lavasoft appears to be becoming compromised by commercial interests and
removing detections on the flimsiest of pretexts (ie is becoming about as
trustworthy as Microsoft). In cases where crapware companies are suing or
threatening to sue, Lavasoft are caving in, while Patrick Kolla is merely
compromising by releasing Spybot with detections, for eg, New.net, disabled
but capable of being re-enabled in the configuration.

I use both, have long supported Ad-aware and once upon a time recommended
Ad-aware exclusively. Now I reckon you're not just well-advised to have
both, but if you only have one, make it Spybot S&D and certainly place more
trust in it.
