Starting last night, as I boot up the computer, certain
files that are listed in Msconfig Startup hang and refuse
to load and I have to CTL ALT DEL and end task to get the
process to continue. These usually include systray,
statemgr and vsmon. I have scanned the disk, run spybot
and adaware, I have latest mcaffee virus protection and
firewall and I just can't figure out what caused this.
Files (like systray.exe) seem to be there in
Windows/System as they shouldbe. It it not even the same
programs each time. ????????

If you can't think of any explanation for the cause, i.e. you've not made
any very recent hardware/software changes AND this has only just occurred
i.e. 'Last night', try running System Restore and roll-back to the
'night-before-last' and see if that improves things.
