Sounds like you have a resources problem - don't you get any warning
messages saying "Low Memory" or "Low Resources"??
Use the Resource Meter app to keep an eye on these things - it should be in
Programs|Accessories|SystemTools - if it's not there, then you'll need to
install it from Add/Remove Programs|Windows Setup|System Tools - I'd also
install and run the System Monitor to keep an eye on the "Swapfile in Use"
(Ignore the CPU usage - it's known to be buggy)
Have you perchance limited the Virtual Memory? - are you running Norton
software??
When the system freezes - can you do a C-A-D and get the Task Manager up?? -
if so, what's running - does anything show as 'not responding'??
OTOH, it may be that the system is trying to go into standby mode, and
failing - temporarily turn off all power-saving options and see if that
helps.
