Problems after reboot (pictures)

Hi, i have recently rebooted my computer. Have loaded on
all the old software. I used to be able to save pics from
the internet to my PC and then be able to open them in 'my
pics'. My computer will now only open a few select pics.
It wont and never would open ART. pics. But it now won't
open some bitmaps or gifs. They wont open in the preview
mode and when i try and open them with a different format
i get an error message saying:
***********************************************************
C:\MyDocuments\MyPictures\(filename)
(Program Name)Can not read this file.
This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not
currently supported.
(OK BUTTON)

anyone have any ideas on how i can get thi sorted? thanks -

Dear Graham,

This is due to the pictures becoming corrupt, this may
have happened due to a crash etc. or if they have not be
wrote to the disk properly when you backed them up,

The only thing you can do now is delete them because you
will never be able to view them.
