 - Error Messages and more I downloaded IE 6 yesterday. I have run into error messages that I cannot find information on. I cannot get into Control Panel, I get an error 29 unspecified. When I go to about in IE it tells me I have a script problem error 84. Tried to so a system restore and get a script problem and error 29. When I downloaded 6.0 and after installation I had a message that Dlllnstall in c:\windows\system\inetcpl.cpl would not install. I have reinsatlled 6.0 also went to the Microsoft website and downloaded a new scripts engine. Cannot write from AOL to send mail. Any help would be appreciated. Ed Tag: Outlook Express Tag: 218479

 - Explore is all greyed out When I'm in My Documents folder/ any other folder I click on the Folders button and I get a greyed out window (using internet explorer it would be where Favourites Folder opens up using the Standard Buttons view).  - USER.EXE errors I can't seem to find a fix for this. While online, my computer will freeze up with the message "[insert .dll file here] has caused a general protection fault in USER.EXE" The .dll file is usually kernel 32, but sometimes it's something like "explorer."  - General Help I am a fairly new computer user. How often should i go to Micosoft's site and update my windows Me edition? I have nevr done that and I it shows a (15) by the critical updates.  - downloading the new AOL9.0 I have an hp pavilion mx70 millenium edition. When I try to install the new aol 9.0 this shows up : AOL setup has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL and it wont download.  - Programs running in background I have a program running in background that writes to hard disk continuously, even with all programs shut down except explorer and systray.  - Reading docs Hi, hope someone can help me. I want to save some room on my pc by moving all the archieved Yahoo pms that I want to save to CD or floppy. But so far, every time I move one, then try to view it, it has turned into some kind of computer giggeris! I have yet to find a program to turn it back into regular fonts and therefore readable.....sighs. Sure hope someone can help me!! And pleaseeee.......  - microsoft works update detection Everytime i run microsoft works (v6)it adds MkDetect.exe to my registry, which is an update detection for works. the problem is that there is no such file on my computer so i cant delete it, and whenever i just delete the registry it comes back when i run works again.  - internet problems i had been deleting programs of which i knew a few days ago. and in the following days my internet and computer worked perfectly fine, even better than usual in fact. However when i booted up my computer today my internet explorer and email would not run. instead of the usual browser it would say "install dellnet MSN" when i tried to access email or internet. my aol instant messanger worked fine and i was connected to the internet. thus i have no idea how to get my explorer working properly could someone please help me?  - Runtime Error 424: Object Required Help! I recently am getting a pop up explorer window with this error message, Runtime Error 424:Object Required, about 30 to 60 seconds after my PC boots up. My PC is then frozen and a reboot is needed. I can boot into safe mode and troubleshoot from there but have not a clue what I should be looking for or where to find it.  - Start up I have dual boot with WinMe and WinXP. Few days before some system files from c drive which had windowsME were deleted; the system did not start later. It said ntldr file missing. I later copied that file to my c drive from my friend. After that windowsXP starts but it WindowsMe does not start. It says invalid system disk, press any key to restart.  - System Info Missing I have just noticed that System Information (start/programs/accessories/etc) is missing from my menu. I haven't used it for a while so I am not aware when it has disappeared or why?. I know I can access it from RUN msinfo32.exe, but why has it vanished off my menus as it is much easier to access from there? Any ideas on how to get it back onto my menu.  - Iexplore error When trying to burn some music files to a CD, I get the following error message: Iexplore had caused an error in <unknown> Iexplore will now close and then the computer freezes and I have to reboot.  - Add/Remove list of programs disappeared When I go to the Ctrl Panel and double click on Add/Remove programs to remove software, my list of programs no longer appears.
