This looks as if your inbox may have got corrupted (unfortunately common -
it's not a good idea to leave things in it if you can avoid it)
try this....
Do a Search for files named '*.dbx' - without the quotes.
You'll find a large number. rename the one called 'Inbox.dbx' to
'oldInbox.dbx'.
try OE again (it will create a new Inbox.dbx) - if it works, then you may be
able to recover the emails from the oldinbox.dbx using DBXtract from
http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx
If it doesn't work, then delete the new Inbox.dbx, and rename the
oldInbox.dbx back.
