Opening Windows ME

When starting Windows ME it always opens the root folder c:/ also. I have
made all of the recommended changes to the registry but nothing has
worked.
Can anyone advise me please, its starting to become very annoying.

Not 100% sure what you are asking: in what way does the "root folder C:\"
open? Do you mean Windows Explorer, perhaps?
