FWIW......only Quebec celebrates Bastille Day, you ditz!! (VBG) And then
July 25th which is St. Anne's feast day, I believe.

Saw a gazillion Merkin tourists at Canada's version of Lourdes (St. Anne de
Beaupre) one July 25th and vowed never to hit Quebec City again on that day.
Not a single room at the Inn for us Ontari-ari-ari-oh persons.

Oh...and July 1st is the National Moving Day in Quebec......the whole
population shifts apartments/abodes all on the one day. Strange custom.

Cheers.....Heather

Youre right, July 1st: "Oh...and July 1st is the National Moving Day in
Quebec......the whole population shifts apartments/abodes all on the one day.

That's the one day not to be in the street if you're not moving!! but the
day is so famous, theres hordes of Japanese Tourists, clicking away. Of
course on either side of the "border" its called Canada day.
Didnt know about july 25th, been there some 50 odd years ago and found it
much worse than Lourdes with so many peddlers of "bondieuseries".

In those days there was only coco-cola in small 5cents bottles, and that was
banned from the shrine, bcoz they woudnt sell their own "holy water". In any
case I took the same train back (those were special trains with about 10
passenger wagon - going back and forth). Yep "La belle province" (it says
so on our licence plate) was something in those days. Cheers
