Got a compaq deskpro en and even though numlock is on in the bios it
does not turn on at all. tried several keyboards.

is there a way in winme at least to turn it on?

Have you tried the NumLock key?<g>
There is no setting in the Win ME boot sequence which would normally reset
the state of the NumLock key - I suggest that you recheck the settings in
F10 Setup again.
