I've been struggling with this since upgrading to ME from
98 on my Pent III machine. When I bootup, I get
a "Windows Protection Error. You must re-start... System
halted." When I remove NDIS.VXD using msconfig, the
system reboots fine yellowing out the network drivers;
but, of course, not allowing me to dialup the net with my
IP (AOL 9.0). I have replaced ndis.vxd from another WIN
ME machine and it would start ONCE but then back to the
same problem. Is there a hotfix that can solve this? Is
the problem caused by my BIOS? Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks :(
