Silj:

'Good Read' indeed.
A bit of an eye opener for me. I printed the seemingly most important pages
for future reference.
Thanks for making it available.

Harry, old but never too old to learn.

Hey silj,
Interesting site, but, I have a question for you.......are you
familiar with or have you used any of the apps mentioned in the article??
One, which caught my eye, was the Spyware Block List File,
http://spywareguide.com/blockfile.php , which sets kill bits in the
Registry. There are three flavors of this particular app, a basic, expert,
and $$ version. Is this doing the same thing as Spyware Blaster?... and
would it conflict with it???

This seems to set the kill bits in the same place as Spyware
Blaster:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX
Compatibility\CLSID of the ActiveX control
Thought this may be a good alternative to SB, since I can't update
normally...
have to use my workaround (sure will be glad when Javacool gets that fixed).

Opinions, please........
Heirloom, old and needs protection

Yes, you know I am <g>

It would conflict with Spyware Blaster since it's a Registry "tweak" that
ads site to the Restricted Sites Zone. Spyware Blaster already does that
and there would likely be some problems.

Check-out Mike Burgess' most-excellent site re: restricted zones items.
