Hi,
Try this way:
Boot with your ME startup disk.
In the command prompt A:\> type C:\scanreg /restore then
select the oldiest date for restore and then reboot when
prompted.
If still no avail, you may need to re-install ME;
Note: just choose re-install ME, "NOT" clean install.
Your data files should be safe but not 100% guaranteed.
If you want 100% safe, I would suggest you to buy a new
harddisk, run FDISK and partition the new harddisk into 2
or 3 patition and then clean install the OS to the C
drive. After all, attached the old harddisk as slave and
copy the data files to the D drive of the new harddisk.
After you have checked that all data files have been
transferred to the D drive successfully, you can format
the slave drive and the use it as a backup harddisk.
Hope it helps.
For email, remove the first letter "m" from my email
address.
