When I booted up today, I went to the 'Accessories' Folder in
'Programs' and there was nothing there. Scandisk, Defrag, Dos Prompt
etc are all gone. No problem in rebuilding (except I can't find the
Dos Prompt in any windows folders) but what the heck would cause this?
Is there a way for full recovery without too much playing around?
(That sometimes annoying MsOffice 2000 program ran at boot-up, you
know, the one that says it will make your programs run better; could
it be the culprit?)

You could utilize System Restore to roll the system back to just prior
to the Accessories folder disappearing. It is possible that the MS
Office " make your programs run better " made the Accessories folder
disappear if you haven't used it in awhile.

I tried System Restore, Mow; I went back two restore points and no
joy. It has been a while since I used any of the programs in "System
Tools". I've put back items like scandisk and defrag but for some
reason, I can't find the 'MsDos Prompt'. I've also been unable to
find it on my ME disk, either. How can the prompt be restored? Also,
how can I disable the MsOffice "Make Your Programs Run Better"
facility?
