What is your exact browser version please? You can check this by clicking
Help | About in IE. Note that Win Me was released with IE5.5 build
5.50.0.100 which within a few days should have been updated to the final
released version of IE5.5, v5.50.0.600 however IE5.5 has long been
unsupported on Win Me and you should have upgraded some years ago to IE6
with the latest version that runs on Win Me being IE6 SP1.

Thanks. It appears you are running a version of IE that went out of
support about five years ago. Personally I feel you should as a matter of
urgency update this to IE6 SP1 but if for some reason you are reluctant to
do so then I suggest that you try repairing IE and see if that helps
resolve the problem.

Since you have not updated to IE6 I don't think that you will have an
entry for Internet Explorer in Add/Remove Programs which makes repairing
IE a little bit more difficult. If you do have an entry for IE in
Add/Remove Programs then select this, click Remove and from the options
menu that pops up select Repair.

If IE does not does not appear in Add/Remove programs instead use Start |
Run and in the box type (all as one line):

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\Windows\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

Keep the spaces (after ll32, ance, Program, rnet, EXE", /g, \IE and tall)
and also the quote marks. Now click OK and follow the prompts.

See MS KB 194177 - "Description of the Internet Explorer Repair tool"
(http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=194177). This article also applies to
IE6 although not mentioned in the article.
