Hello;
Two error messages appear simultaneously, on the desktop, at startup. Each
bears the title "Advanced INF Install". The text of each is slightly
different and appears as follows:
Error: could not locate INF file E:\content\Win9x\winme\WMEfinish.inf
Error: could not locate INF file E:\content\Win9x\winme\WMEsetRP.inf
Clicking OK on the error message causes it to disappear, only to appear
again at next startup. The machine appears to function OK otherwise.
The machine is behind a NetGear router and is protected by AVG 6.0, Ad-aware
and Spybot. I have run a Symantec & Housecall virus check, via the Internet,
to no avail. I would appreciate any help to get rid of these pests. Thank
you.

Melvin

Melvin,

Insert your Windows Security Update CD in your CD drive and reboot and let it
finish its work. Your problem is due to your removing the CD before it had
finished installing the patches.
