I am working on a friend's machine housing WME. I don't personally
use WME, and so, am not sure where the desktop folder should exist,
among other things.

At boot, all I get on the screen is the taskbar, and the start button.
The latter does work. The remainder of the screen is the 'background'
(<none>).

Anyway I have looked in WindowsExplorer, and a c:\windows\desktop
folder exists, and it contains all the missing desktop icons, each of
which will execute the apps as they are supposed to if I double-click
on them.

So, what I need to do is to get the content of that folder to show on
the desktop screen. How do I do that?

I have read the prior posts dealing with 'show desktop'. I do not
find a showdesktop executable under c:\windows or its subdirs.
I thought maybe that would do it.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks
