I just sat down to update my son's Windows Me system and there were a lot of
MS updates he needed. I loaded them. Now, When I open My Computer, I can
see his hard drive, CD drive, Control Panel, etc. listed. But when I select
any of those items, I get a blank Windows Explorer screen. The status line
will show "34 objects" for example, but NOTHING can be seen or visibly
selected. There are no column headings when I switch to details view. If I
do Control-A, it indicates all 34 objects have been selected.

It does this in most folders, but I remembered some folder names and found I
could browse to them and see their contents in the usual manner. An example
was C:/Program Files/Plus! showed me the folders and files as it should.
When I then browse back UP the tree, it again shows the folders above it as
blank.

Control Panel is blank - but the status line says the objects are there.

So, I tried to run RESTORE but it does not load. I run it a second time and
it just gives me a blank screen.

I sure hope someone out there can help!!!!

Thanks in advance,

Lynda
