Hello Heirloom:

Just checking to see how your Cross is coming along.
Were you able to finish it in time?
I surely hope you were and wish I could actually see it, for it must be a
spectacular thing to look at.
Enjoy your Holidays.

Harry, not feeling old at all.

Should have it finished tomorrow. I cut the final 7 pieces of glass for the
center (the part that joins the four arms of the cross) tonight. I have
them foiled and ready to solder and then form the lead around the outer edge
and solder it into place. Apply the patina, a baking soda bath, dry it and
it will be ready to mount to the wood. Don't know if it is kosher to post a
pic on the NG......maybe I can supply a link to some pics.
Heirloom, old and wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas

Send a pix to Noel and he can post it next to the "bearded lady".

Congrats, Loon, on your remarkable achievement, but I ain't going to West
Texas to see it in the flesh.
Not this year, ... not ever! Not near Midland!

Btw, use TIFF format, or similar, for the picture to avoid any suspicion of
the recent JPG virus ploy.

What is the 'bearded lady'??? Don't think I have seen that one. Finished
the cross about an hour ago, will get a few pics off to Noel shortly and let
him tell me where to go to view them. Will also convert them to .tiff, as
per your suggestion.
Heirloom, old and sure glad it is done

......and I am 600 miles from Midland.....in a different part of the world,
just the same state. We have trees and hills and everything!

a dress with a long wig......weird lot!! <g>

So, I guess nobody is going to share this 'bearded lady' pic with me, huh?
I can only imagine, after the pic you sent to me, Figgs......that MVP shirt
was okay, but, a nice, satin, spaghetti strap evening gown would be more
becoming.
Heirloom, old and mine doesn't fit anymore

I've cleaned up the Index page, and added a link from it direct, H - when I
come to the complete redesign I keep on meaning to get around to, I'll put
it in a more 'discoverable' place.

Glad to help out a chum!

I like that new index page Noel, very amusing and the link works. I had
already seen the cross courtesy of H. but just seen this post and checked
it out.

Wow, Loon!

And here I thought all you really did was teach people how to wreck cycles.

Did I misunderstand? I thought the cross was traveling to near Midland from
your Tyler.
Congrats on a very handsome piece. Maybe it'll get inside a thousand year
old Welsh / Brit church someday.

Thanks Jack,
The cross made it fine.......'tis now on the wall of a very nice
church in Seminole.......still a ways from the Midland/Odessa area, but,
just about as desolate. I imagine it will be around a lot longer than
I........just my little way of leaving a mark on this world.
...........oh yeah, I teach them how to AVOID wrecking the cycles!
Heirloom, old and has a bazillion emails
