Critical update mystery

Folks,

EVERY time I visit the Windows Update site it tells me that my computer
needs Windows Media Player Script Commands (KB828026) installed.

I have installed this same update countless times as confirmed by the
records on the site, but for some reason Microsoft still thinks it isn't
there. What gives?

Go to the WindowsUpdate newsgroup and ask.

PROBLEM: 828026 update re-offered for installation on Windows Update
site
CAUSE: WMP.DLL file mismatch
RESOLUTION:
1. Delete all copies of WMP.DLL
2. Re-install Windows Media Player 9.0 series
3. Re-install 828026 update

Thank you, Smirnoff. This worked for me. Now I'm supposed to install 837272
which was installed before so I might be in a vicious circle. I don't need
837272 so I'll pass on it.
