In April I installed Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1 and
the KB911562 and KB912812 updates. Since then the colors displayed by
my browsers, both IE Explorer and Firefox, and also other programs (e.g.
Adaware) have been flaky, inconsistent. The appearance is what I have
been used to seeing when a browser page has not completely loaded.

Any suggestions for fixing the problem?

Tom

Check your video drivers and also that your colour depth/settings haven't
somehow changed.

Mike,

Bingo. Color depth/settings was the problem. True Color(32 bit) works a
lot better than 256 colors. Thank you.

Tom,

I'm pleased to read that you found the cause of the problem. I sort of
thought that colour depth might be the problem from your description but
one never knows until one checks.

Indeed it does!
