I cannot download an update (KB828026). It says that it
is downloading and to wait. Well, I wait and wait and
wait and nothing happens.

Disable all background programs and download again.

Clear your cache. Delete all temporary internet files and cookies.

Try it from here with your antivirus program temporarily disabled :

Windows Media Player 6.4, Windows Media Player 7.1, or Windows Media

Close Internet Explorer when the download is complete. Empty the
Temporary Internet Files and History. Reboot the system to Safe Mode

click Start, Run, Browse to where the patch was downloaded to, click
once on it, now click OK.
