Why can't I download pictures from my HP315 camera like I
used to with Windows98? Very frustrated with ME.

Was told that Microsoft cameraware tries to capture
pictures but doesn't work. Told to contact MSoft for help -
they want me to pay for answer to problem THEY caused. No
way!!. So am trying to get -free- help on this site.
Terrible that Microsoft is so damned stingy.

To date you have provided no detail as to your problem such as error messages
you are seeing or even how you are connecting your camera or what software you
have installed. Do so and you might obtain some help. To date you have
posted nothing that suggests the problem has anything to do with the operating
system.

There were no error messages -only: "WAIT WHILE
DOWNLOADING PICTURES - screen. Waited 15 minutes last time
and nothing happened. Pictures no where in computer.
Camera battery went dead. By time I bought new batteries
all vacation pictures gone. I see a few other people have
various problems with ME!! Thanks for your answer. I am a
musician and couldn't hold a job if I played like the
developers of computer programs. Maybe I should get into a
profession where you can make a lot of mistakes and get
away with it.
Am using HP315 disc. Was told MS would give me help for a
charge.

If your pictures got deleted on the camera I don't see how that was the fault
of the operating system you might have been using. You've already said the
battery went dead, was that also the fault of the operating system?

Sadly since I still have no idea as to how you were connecting your camera to
your PC (I have to assume USB but there are other ways) nor as to the software
you installed on your PC I'm sorry but I feel I should now withdraw and leave
you to find someone who has the same camera and the same unnamed program who
might be able to help.

Whether you contact Microsoft or not has to be your choice although the
problem seems more to do with the unnamed application you installed, but if
you do decide to do so please have all the information available including
names of programs and means of connection.

Regards,

Of course. Don't you know : WinME sucks ,apparently, the battery's
charge.
On the serious side, all cameras and phones i connected to my PC were
found and no extra software was required to transfer data.

MP,

I asked about the installed program because the OP had mentioned installing
some program or other. For myself, like yourself, I've never needed to
install any special software to allow me to transfer pictures from my camera.

Ah, so now I understand why users are saying that Win Me sucks. :-)
