Today for the first time I got a Windows Icon in my
taskbar, clicked on it and it installed a Windows update
that it had apparently down loaded previously at a time I
was on the Internet. It instructed me to reboot and on
reboot got message to wait while Windows was updated. I
have always logged on to the Windows Update site and
selected the critical updates I wanted, confirming that it
was a valid MS update. Should this be reported as a
possible virus?

Check Automatic Updates in the Control Panel to see if the settings have
changed. A Repair of Internet Explorer can cause this behavior. Doubt
that this is a possible virus.
