Hi there
After using the fdisk program, I make my primary DOS
partition as Active. Do I have to make Extended Dos
partition as Active too?
What does actually the active status do?
Thanks

For operating systems such as Win Me the active partition is the one from
which the system boots. Only one partition on a disk is active at any one
time.

BTW you only need to post a question once in a single newsgroup however if you
are going to post to multiple newsgroups it is better to "cross post", which
means posting one message to two or more newsgroups rather than, as you did,
post identical but separate messages to more than the one newsgroup. The
advantages of this are many including all the replies being in all of the
cross-posted newsgroups regardless of which of the newsgroups the reply was
posted in.

Hi Mike
Thanks for the information.
Can you tell me how to cross post the message?

Aman,

You would have to use a proper news client, anything is better than the dire
web interface you are currently using, as I don't think that cross-posting is
currently easily available on the current version of the web interface
(http://communities2.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx)
although it can be done with some effort. To be honest when I posted earlier
I thought it was a little easier to cross post correctly using the web
interface. Yet another reason why it should, IMO, be ditched although I do
realise that without the web interface many would not have found these
newsgroups.

Cheers,
