    - Computer Reboots Continuosly I have a computer with 2 hard drive that will not boot. It's like stuck in a loop, and will keep restarting continuosly. It will not start in safe mode. So I decided to re-partition and reformat the c: drive, thinking this would solve the problem. WRONG! Still having the same problem on a clean hard drive. Anybody have any suggestions? HELP PLEASE!     - WildTangent I had to install Wildtangent webdriver for a game I had. I have since uninstalled the game and the Wildtangent webdriver but on startup or restart I get this error: C\PROGRAM~1\WILDTA~1\\APPS\CDA\CDAENG~1.DLL It says that it cannot find this file. The only way to fix it is to reinstall Wildtangent which I understand is spyware. All this has happened since I ran SpyBot and it uninstalled Wildtangent.     - No Windows - Noel I couldn't reply to the response you gave me on my first post. Nothing shows up on the Safe Mode other than those two files from McAfee. I'm using Microsoft ME and I've installed a 3rd party DVD using the USB connection and a D- Link Wi-Fi card (which was all working until...I tried to remove the kazaa icon in the tray). System crashed and only rebooted to the screen without any icons. I tried using the System Disk, but the DVD doesn't respond. I changed the sequence from Hard drive to CD in the bios but that didn't work either. I can use the F8 button to get to the normal, safe mode, or step by step.     - Explorer won't open After I downloaded a critical update for Windows ME a few days ago, I began getting the following error message "Explorer has caused an error in SHLWAPI.DLL. Explorer will now close." This now occurs every time I try to click on My Documents, My Computer, or access the Control Panel from the Start button. Explorer will no longer open so I can look at my files. I know it's there because it will still open up from the Explorer bar on Internet Explorer. IE works fine. Everything works fine, except for hot keys linking to Explorer to list files. I also get an error message similar to the one above but with SFG012B.DLL when I click on Start, Search for Files or Folders on my Desktop. I can access the Control Panel and Recycle Bin via the Explorer bar on Internet Explorer, but if I try clicking on the Recycle Bin icon or the Control Panel via the Start button, I get the same SHLWAPI.DLL error message.     - Windows update problem I recently had a run in with coolweb and have finally managed to remove the little bugger. I am now having a problem running windows update. This is the message I receive when I try to update, any ideas on how to rectify this situation would be most appreciated: To install items from Windows Update, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group.     - Problem with explorer.exe When windows starts to open, a message pops up saying there is a problem with explorer.exe. must reinstall windows. I can do nothing further. I can't get my start menu, or any of the icons on my desktop. I found a soltuion, the problem is that I need a command prompt.     - setupx corrupt wireless internet access I am trying to set up a Win ME Laptop to share an internet connection wirelessly using Speedtouch 120 and 570. In the install process, I get the error message that setupx.dll is corrupt and I have no choice but to exit. I have tried downloading a setupx.dll file off the web and got hold of it OK. I have tried out two remedies proposed for this problem: the first mentioned in a revised MS KB Q254953 article to ensure that the Property of the Hard Disk is not selected to be ?removable? and the second to ensure that the responsibility of managing the Virtual Memory is left to Windows in the Control Panel System Performance Dialog. Neither has worked and I am still unable to open applications requiring Virtual memory. While working on the second remedy, I was shocked to find that Windows ME says that I have minus 12034 MB free memory, even though the Property of the Hard Disk shows 69 GB free space on the drive. Even if I leave it to Windows to manage Virtual memory, what can it do if I have minus 12 GB of Virtual Memory? Of course, the number is all greyed since I have selected the option to let Windows manage Virtual Memory. There are other remedies mentioned for Windows 98 but I have not come across any other for ME. Could any expert or Microsoft suggest how to get Windows ME to provide a Plus 15 GB Virtual Memory with a Hard Disk having 69 GB free out of 75 GB so that I can start opening all applications? P.     - Freezing on startup This started showing up a couple of months ago. On startup, my Windows ME often freezes before it finishes loading. Desktop is there, so are hourglass and mouse arrow, but not all icons. CTL+ALT+DEL produces usual blue screen, says "System is Busy." Message goes on to say "The system is waiting for the Close Program box to be displayed. You can wait and see if it appears or you can restart your computer." I don't know what the Close Program box is, and waiting doesn't produce one. Pressing CTL+ALT+DEL again re-starts the computer and Windows loads completely -- usually. But sometimes repeated pressing of CTL+ALT+DEL does not restart the computer -- the blue screen and message just sit there. Only recourse is to switch off power. Scandisk, anti-virus scan, online spyware scan all negative. Running WinMe on IBM Netvista 700mhz, 64MB. Anyone know what's going on here? Tag: WIN32 Tag: 243387

    - Mike more help needed Have made much progress- Ran Virus Scan in Safe Mode and AdWare files (including Adware-PurityScan)were identified as "potentially unwanted". Was able to delete about half but others were labeled "disk write protected" so I was not able to clean, delete or quarantine. Was not able to delete manually either, under file properties > attributes they were marked "archive." I was not allowed to deselect.
