no explanation, but it is a all too often common problem.
seems some mother boards have problems with installing vista with =
different combinations of extra devices enabled in the bios.
some serial/parallel, extra hard drives, extra cd/dvd drives, or as you =
found usb devices.

Yesterday I figured out that my USB Controller caused the problem... I
disabled all USB features in my BIOS (2.0 Controller, Legacy support)
and guess what: the startup screen appeared! Of course without a =
cursor,
because my USB mouse had been disabled...
Strange isn't it? What could be the explanation to this weird =
solution?
I'm still wondering... :confused:
