Hi,
As Solon Fox suggested it's not your Registry slowing your system down.
Along with Spyware you may also check your Startup items and see what and
how many are loading. Click Start and at the bottom in the Start Search,
type in msconfig
Click the Startup Tab to see what is loading.
For Spyware removal try these......
Spybot-S&D

http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html
SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
Ad-Aware 2007 Free
You didn't mention what Antivirus software you are using, but Id recommend
Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition
