help!

ok here's the story... i was messin around on the computer.... something..
umm.. wet.. got on the keyboard... (i have a laptop) i wiped it up fast....
thing is.. before i wiped it up.. i didn't turn off my laptop.. All sorts of
crazy things started happening... i know i pressed a bunch of keys and i'm
sure several unknown shortcuts (i hate vista)
ANyway...

when i finally got it to restart and calm down... the screen was completely
upside down.. i mean... flip the laptop over to be able to read anything...
well with a system restore.. i fixed that.. but what i didn't fix was the
color... now everything is a purpulish.. and all blues, yellows, and other
normal colors are super intense..

I have gone through the screens and looked at the display things and
everything is set to where my color should be normal.. yet its not.....

can someone please please please give me a suggestion....

Try Ctrl-Alt-Up Arrow or Ctrl-Shift-Up Arrow

He spilled coke or something in his laptop. Up arrows ain't
gonna help.

Since you didn't turn it off immediately and pull the battery
you may have caused electrical damage. Or in your panic you may have
handled it more roughly than you should have. Either way the remedy is
the same:

You'll need to be confident and very careful. Get the service
manual and completely disassemble the unit according to the instructions.
Don't force anything. If it doesn't come out you missed a screw or a
secret catch or something, laptops are full of stuff like that. Follow
the instructions. Get several small bowls and put the parts in each bowl
as you take the assemblies out. You'll have a million tiny screws and
wierd little cables and such.

You may see sticky stuff or coffee stains from your accident. You
may see loose cables (your problem actually sounds like a loose or damaged
LCD cable more than anything else.) Luckily all parts except for the lcd,
the disk drive, the battery, and the heatsink with its little pad are washable
in plain water. (Yes, even the motherboard, just don't soak it...) If you
don't see any stains carefully reassemble it; the loose connections will be
reseated during this process. If you see stains you'll probably want to
try and remove them, but I can't advise you on if you should or not. You'll
need to use your judgement. If you do wash it gently dont put it back
together for a couple of days. It must be completely dry.

Alternatively, send it to the manufacturer or a third party for repair.
They'll do the above and replace damaged parts. Expect to spend betwen 2
and 4OO dollars for the service.

I once had a guy bring in a Latitude for service. He'd lent it
to his son and when the kid brought it back he reported that "it just
stopped working". When I took it apart I found that the bottom bezel was
full of Coke. You could see where it had been spilled on the keyboard
and how it flowed down through the machine until it pooled in the bottom.
Eventually it touched the bottom of the motherboard. Where that happened
the plastic was scorched and the Coke was carmelized. I washed it up,
replaced the motherboard, and he was as good as new.

Sounds like a setting in Ease Of Access (see start menu) for 'high contrast'
