Today a suggestive article in Marketwatch.com mentioned the demise of Vista
operating systems. It was pointed out that this is unlikely due to the
overwhelming brilliant and costly staff who developed and marketed this
costly venture.

I am suggesting a more practical approach to this situation. Buy Apple.
The message is clear. Big business is unbending in their approach to this
software. The Lemming approach is in high gear.

So for the Barack Obama movement in operating software to take hold, you
need the candidate. Treasure your XP (A statement I thought I would never
utter) and move to the most logical system available. Apple OS is bought in
quantity will send a message to the bottom line that Microsoft recognizes,
shareholder value.

Meanwhile to all you Vista supporters, keep up the good work, you will
surely help the cause.

All Apple has to do is release the OS with the built in BIOS kludge . . .

Whenever you want to understand stupidity ponder why Apple never released
its OS for use outside its overpriced/underpowered boxes.

I agree, Microsoft would benefit from buying Apple in the long term. They
would get a solid OS they could pander. Apple users would cry foul for
sure. The biggest reason you own an Apple is that MS-Windows isn't good
enough. Easy sell these days.

One real problem though, they would have to admit in public that the
MS-Windows OS (any version) isn't worth a crap going forward. Which might
be the truth, but it will not happen for this reason alone. But monopoly
issues could also hit them.

It would ruin Apple if it ever happened.

Well.... it sorta did that with the Darwin Project:

I think that the OP was saying that the consumers should buy Apple
products, not that MS should buy Apple. I read it that way the first

Hm, isn't that double dipping the customer?

Buy 2 so one runs? A license was purchased with the original PC was it not?

Only Microsoft could get away with that.

What has that got to do with M$?
You go out and buy a machine with a vendor supplied and supported OS called
Vista and then go out and buy another retail OS called vista.
THe correct approach would be to get the supplier of the original OS to fix
it as they should do.
If they can't tell them to refund the machine and buy a Samsung.

If it was GM, Ford, Chyrsler, Toyota, Honda or other auto manufacture, I
could say lemon law.

It is M$ monopolistic position and bundling that sells Vista. If users had
a choise, bet Vista sales would dwindle. New full versions of Vista often
site on the shelf with the dust.

How many people buy 2 engines for their cars so one works?

Makes for good but cheap machines in the return bin.

Of if too late to return it, load Ubuntu or Fedora. New Fedora version in 4
days. http://fedoraproject.org/

Today a=20
suggestive article in Marketwatch.com mentioned the demise of Vista =
>=20
operating systems. It was pointed out that this is unlikely due =
to the=20
> overwhelming brilliant and costly staff who developed and =
marketed=20
this
> costly venture.
>
> I am suggesting a more=20
practical approach to this situation. Buy Apple.
> =
The=20
message is clear. Big business is unbending in their approach to =
this=20
> software. The Lemming approach is in high gear. =
>=20
> So for the Barack Obama movement in operating software to =
take hold,=20
you
> need the candidate. Treasure your XP (A statement I =
thought=20
I would never
> utter) and move to the most logical system=20
available. Apple OS is bought in
> quantity will send a =
message=20
to the bottom line that Microsoft recognizes,
> shareholder=20
value.
>
> Meanwhile to all you Vista supporters, keep up =
the=20
good work, you will
> surely help the cause.
>=20
