Well, folks, the honeymoon is over. This annoying
problem is definitely an OS issue.

T7700 (Core2Duo), 4GB, Vista Business with SP1, and it's
been mighty fine!

Since installing SP1, when I right-click a desktop icon,
I'll sometimes get the spinning blue ring leading to
Explorer failure (followed by self-recovery). It's
inconsistent, and I don't know what conditions are
required to replicate the problem.

Any ideas from the experts?

Ike

PS: please do NOT suggest changing my OS, my hardware,

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

OK - thanks! I downloaded that tool and will give it a
try. My son is still young enough to know everything, so
perhaps I'll ask him for help...
