I just reinstalled Internet Explorer 7. Now I'm still unable to
connect. (Cable, XP Pro SP2)

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Oh, here's something interesting: Firefox is my default browser, but
recently I've had major problems navigating at webites like Amazon and
Tower--text throughout the tops of the pages were blurry, and clicking
did not take me to new pages.

Opening it now, I see that they're clear!! So something in the IE 7
reinstallation must have fixed the Firefox problem. But it has not
fixed the IE problem--I still can't connect to the web.

I should have disabled Spybot; both of my last installations have
brought me Spybot questions about registry changes that I had trouble
answering: the first time I said do not allow. This time I said Do
allow.

What can be the problem with my IE7?

Pages can't be blurry - the pictures can be of lower quality, and this
is common for people that use FREE internet or Cheap internet service
like NetZero - they will down sample the images to lower quality.

Are you using one of those crappy dial-up internet services?

Hi,
You should definitely have disabled any real-time protection of Spybot
during the IE7 installation. Most of those features are in Tools> IE Tweaks
and Tools> Resident.

Re: IE not connecting...
Is a third-party firewall blocking IE7? Check settings of any third-party
firewall or security suite with firewall. After the reinstall, IE7 may
appear (to the firewall) to be a different program which has not yet been
approved.
See: 942818- Error message after you install a Windows IE7 update:

Hope this helps,
