hi, i am getting the following message when i start up windows xp
professional: "please select the operating system to start." after about a
couple of seconds this message disappears and my computer starts up. my
question is what can i do to eliminate this message from appearing every
time i start my computer? thanks dave

Start/Run
enter: msconfig

Click on the 'Boot.ini' tab
Click on the 'Check All Boot Paths' button
If you get a Pop Up windows with a message that in effect says
"the following line in the BOOT.INI file does not refer to a valid operating
system"
then click 'Yes' to remove it.
