tried everything to get Icon Image back - no luck!!

The favorites favicon.ico has changed to the default Internet Explorer "E"
icon.

I copyied the favicon.ico from the web site, into a new folder "My Icons"
and then tried to change by browsing to the folder -- no luck!?

anyone know how to clean up this problem?

All my favorite icons are the same blue Internet E.

There are a couple of very nice little free softwares that will replace all
the icons in "my favorites" back to the original as supplied by the site.
They're both great, are safe and work quickly.
