Suddenly when I manually ran Windows Update, the display was like one
for someone who is legally blind. (Very BIG letters and images) It's
like someone turned a giant magnifying glass on the content of IE 7.x
IE does this on every page for every web site, even with encoding set to
Auto. It still happens.

Start>Control Panel>Display>Settings tab> and check the setting there.
(mine is 32-bit x 1280x1024) If your settings seem ok click "advanced"
and go through all settings changing your font size. Good luck

What happens when you change the text size with IE-View-Text Size?

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset to confirm.
Note:
Deletes all temporary files, disables browser add-ons, and reset all the
changed settings.
