Hello,

I am having XP (sp 2) system. Recently the system was infected by many
spywares/malwares. Now, using available tools I have get rid of these
malwares, but now cmd.exe is not running. Whenever I type 'cmd' in Run
window, it says:-
"Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe'. Make sure you
typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file,
click the Start button, and then click Search."

I checked the path and found that cmd.exe is there, even double
clicking on cmd.exe in explorer shows the same message.
Can anyone help?

regards

Consider a system restore/repair installation.

Click Start, Run, type SFC /SCANNOW, click OK. If any system files are
damaged or missing, they'll be replaced. You may need to reboot
afterwards so damaged files will be replaced.
