Then you did it wrong. You presumably did it from within Windows.
Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if
necessary to accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean
installation (delete the existing partition by pressing "D" when
prompted, then create a new one).

If you just did this yesterday, you can't have a big investment in
what's on the drive. Tired or not, I would just start over and do it
correctly this time.
