Hi everyone,

Please help me I am having problems with the time on the lower right side of
my screen and the date keep resetting back to Dec 2001 (must have been a good
year); I clicked on the date and keep changing it and applying it and also
saying OK; then I will close everything down and it will start up with the
old info again. I don't know why it is not correcting it's self. I also set
it to change to the internet automaticly. Can someone pls tell me how to
correct this???
It messed up all of the other applications that saying they are expired
because this date is throwing everything off.........

Thanks...... I appreciate it.......................

It sounds like the battery on your motherboard has died. Take a look at these

Do you mean that you shut down the computer...

...and then reboot it?

If that's the case, you need to replace the battery on the
motherboard. It's a flat disk, about the size and shape of a US
quarter, held in place by a clip. They are inexpensive--$4-5 US or so.

The likely cause of this behaviour is a failing motherboard battery. Open up
your computer and look for a small, flat battery somewhere. They are usually
easy to remove, then all you have to do is replace it with one of the same
type.
