I do not have Zone Alarm installed, so any response to this post pointing to
those updates will be wasting everyones time..... (again).
When KB951748 is installed I lose web access to the Internet, but I can
still connect to the router admin page. The router can ping out via it's
admin page OK. Ping does not work from the PC command line.
During my testing I removed all firewalls bar the Windows one and the
firewall built into the router DG834 (set to allow all). Also note I have
other PC's connected to the same router with the KB951748 patch installed,
these PC's have no problems connecting. So I don't suspect the router.
I have XP media edition running on an AMD x64 dual core processor. The XP is
a 32 bit edition.
Up to now I have been running without KB951748 installed, I thought things
may have moved one with more updates being released in Aug 08. But no joy.
Anyone have any ideas? Again, I do not have Zone Alarm installed, so any
response to this post pointing to those updates will be wasting everyones
