Somehow or other I changed a setting which resulted in the "My Network
Places" icon no longer displaying on the desktop. It appears as an item in
the Desktop in Windows Explorer, but not on the desktop itself.

What's the secret?

Hi PT

Right-click a blank area of the desktop and choose Properties from the
context menu. Then click on the Desktop tab.

Underneath the wallpaper listing you'll see a button labelled Customize
Desktop. Click on that, and a Desktop Items window will appear. On the
General tab at the top you'll see where you can check a box to display
the My Network Places icon. OK your way out and you should be fixed :-)
