From the name "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" I would guess that this is registry
information associated with the user I am logged on as ("Steve"). Does
this mean that there are other parts of the registry that I cannot
search (with Edit, Find...) unless I login as those other users?

I have an application which is reporting details of a program that I
uninstalled a couple of years ago. I cannot find the information in any
file on my system (the search still has some way to go, though). Nor can
I find it in the registry, but am I seeing all of the registry?

Find searches ALL of the registry.

Well, that leaves me with a conundrum. I've installed the 3rd party
application "My Uninstaller". Against my corporate VPN software package
it is showing a description of "Virtuagirl 2". I'll admit that I did
have that on my system a couple of years ago, but then I removed it.

The conundrum is: Where has My Uninstaller found the string
"Virtuagirl"? I can't find it in the registry, I can't find it in any
file on my system (apart from some ancient log files, and their backups).

OK, My Installer is clearly picking up the information incorrectly, but
unless I can find where it is coming from, I'll have a hard time
convincing the author.

Change the search argument to something less. Try-- find-- 'virt'
